Yeah, it was a rocket Pony, but after four seasons of dominance it was also getting a bit boring IMO. I reckon Pete's Monaro should have been used as the blueprint for Sports Sedan design. That is, road car bodyshell and engine in its original location, but freedoms in drivetrain, suspension etc. Sort of like the Improved Production cars (Moffat Mustang, Beechey Monaro, Jane Camaro etc) but with a few more tweaks allowed. Would have been awesome I reckon - and not ended up down a blind alley as they did with the Corvair.
