BMC Australia used the flash on the Major Elite to give the car's rear a visual lift, whereas the '57 Chev's similar shaped flash gave the car a much longer and lower look. The tail-lights were near the bumper, unlike the '55 and '56 which were at the top of the guards. Chrysler Australia's Royal simply added more sheet metal for a tail lift. I guess Bentley, the Chevy stylists had to wring another year out of that body, unlike Ford and Plymouth who offered brand-new body shells for '57.
