Thanks for your contributions gents and excellent images. I have to concur on comments here regarding the size of the engine bay. Having been around numerous V6 Capris in my younger years, I became a huge fan but I also wondered why Ford never made a V8 version because the engine bay was more than large enough. So I built my own, with a 302cid Windsor and Borg Warner single-rail four-speed gearbox. It was such a fun car and so effortlessly fast! Sadly, its next owner wrote it off not long after he bought it. Needless to say, I wish I'd never sold it.
