What a great range of observations and, again, I am amazed by the depth of knowledge within the club. A couple more points. One, it is only in the last decade that CVTs have been strong enough to be used with big engines in heavy vehicles. Among the first such vehicle to feature CVT was the Murano, a vehicle that looked great but failed to excite. SkylarkCustom's comment on the Fiat 125S hits a chord with me. Part of all this is about the joy of something simple which works beautifully. If I went into my shed now and found a brand new automatic car worth $50K and a pristine 125S, it's the latter I'd be taking for a drive.
