Their proper name is Canadian Military Pattern or CMP. Not sure how they got the Blitz name, but the pre-war Opel Blitz was nothing like the Chevs and Fords. The Germans did drive captured allied trucks. I have seen footage of the German army outside Stalingrad in a GMH bodied Chev truck (not a Blitz), probably captured in North Africa.
