Talking Packard, there were myths and truths about whether President Roosevelt gave or sold the dies for the Packard 180 to the Soviet Union. Because it was so hard for information to come out from Russia in the 1940s, the myth was perpetuated until 1952, when a ZIS 110 (Factory in Honour of Stalin....) was 'liberated' from the North Koreans, and it was found that there were a number of differences. Even later it was found that everything had been copied - the body panels are not interchangeable. Stalin and his successors were great admirers of Packard, and the later Chaika Limo had a very mid '50s Packard look about them.
