Well David we seem to agree on quite a bit! I have also disliked the Countach from the get go as a little kid in the 70's. Even then I could see it was a over hyped and frankly underperforming thing. I don't mean it was slow of course just no where near what the factory claimed. Exaggerated styling and exaggerated speed claims which were disproved quite easily by motoring magazines of the day. Spot the manufacturer without a race pedigree..... The BB512 and 365 Boxers were faster and at least had some motorsport pedigree (they won their class at Le mans and 5th outright I think). Not sure what I dislike the most, scissor doors or the cliched Gandini wheel arch that he was still putting on cars a decade later. Interesting that when they stuck on the crappy flairs, the softened the angularity of them! I have owned one Gandini design, an X-19 which was pretty and practical unlike the Countach. Instead, enjoy a Fioravanti masterpiece below. As I said elsewhere, Ferrari managed to sell twice as many Boxers in close to half the time. Cheers Steve
