I had a few Matchbox items early on, but quickly graduated to Corgi and Dinky cars that my local newsagent used to display in a secure window up front of the store. I recall also buying sticker sets that offered up items such as license plates, motoring organisation badges and tax discs. Certainly the James Bond 007 Aston Martin is a signature Corgi item, possibly only equaled - or surpassed ! - by the Batmobile from the original 1960s television series ... I'll also toss into this genre the blue Oldsmobile from The Man From Uncle and the Black Beauty from The Green Hornet. Regardless of all the great film and television items, in view of who we are and where we are, I have to acknowledge my turquoise Holden EJ Special sedan by Dinky Toys, which was also available in bronze metallic ... mine no longer has the suitcase from inside the boot and is somewhat more 'shop-soiled' than the immaculate item pictured below complete with original packaging ...
