I've been reading with interest the road report on the Porsche Taycan EV. The performance is apparently spectacular, with acceleration being similar to a McLaren F1. Zero-100K's 2.8 secs (claimed) and massive brakes etc., The appointments are pure Porsche, with a few fitments taken from the 911. I thought it unfair to compare with the Tesla Performance 3 as owned by AAACV8, because having speed of over 270kmh is utterly useless here in Aus., and it was tested on the Autobahn 180 clicks south of Berlin. It will be a "specialist" car for enthusiasts seeking a 2+2 seater in the same category as Ferrari and Lamborghini, (imho) and the estimated price tag of $350,000 would be in the wealthy 'playboy' range. The Tesla seems to be a lot more practical, with space for family, tame enough to go shopping in, but with enough acceleration and torque to excite the toughest critics. A lot more affordable than the Taycan too !
