Ah - The Good Ol' Days.  To me (in my mid 40's) I'd put this period down as the 70s & 80s.  But if you were to ask a young fella in 20 years time he'd probaly say that the racing nowadays was the 'good Ol days'.    Tracks like Amaroo Park were great - for racing and the spectators, but this track was quite dangerous which meant that the drivers that took risks usually took the rewards  (Win or Bin).  Nowadays nearly all the tracks in Oz have been modified to limit the hazards, thereby making most races just a Nascar procession.  I've attempted to add a pic to this post that I took from the Amaroo Park days - so we'll see what happens.  BTW - driver in the pic was fine.  :-)
