Been there PonyRider ( I was 5-6 ). In the early '50s we lived in Millthorpe, a little country town 14 miles from Orange. Dad used to take us to both Bathurst and Gnoo Blas. Stuck in my lasting memory cells are..... (1) getting hooked on the smell of Castrol R (2) Jack Brabham in his black Cooper Bristol / Redex Special at Bathurst and Gnoo Blas and (3) Arthur Wylie in his little yellow rear-engined Wylie Javelin at Gnoo Blas. Been an addict for old race cars ever since.
