On Saturday, 3rd October 2015, some of our members took their cars along to the 2015 Old Bar Beach Festival for the show n shine. The weather was superb, not a cloud in the sky, and I would say the temperature reached at least 30 degrees, but fortunately an off shore breeze kept us all from becoming sauteed! There was a nice selection of classic cars there this year, as well as the usual hot-rods and classic utes. Eleanor the 1967 Shelby Ford Mustang Fastback (a replica of the car used in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds), and for the kids, Fatty the Ratrod was there, as well as a VW Beetle decked out as Herbie, specially set up to honk his horn when ever somebody walked past, he also "waved" at passers-by with his windscreen wipers! There were also some Kombi vans and VW Beetles there as well, the official Kombi display was of course on Sunday. At around 2:30pm we had the presentations, where Greg Lee won the Best British award for his 1913 Rover Torpedo. All in all, it was an enjoyable day out, I would estimate at least 20,000 people turned up over the weekend.
