Hi Mark, great article which i thoroughly enjoyed reading, especially due to the fact that i have a 68 AC in the process of getting back on the road. This car was originally white and has local racing pedigree (Tasmania) and 'allegedly' was purchased from the International Motor Show in Melbourne in 1968. Tracing the history is proving a little difficult but there have been a few interesting 'period' mods - the engine was swapped out for the later 1608cc in the hunt for more power on the track and the hubs were changed over to Mk 1 Escort stud pattern (assumingly it was easier to find suitable wheels for Ford than Fiat in its day). Not much left to be done now, the interior is all sorted, most of the exterior chrome and lights etc have been fitted and now i need to replace hoses as its not been on the road since around 1988 (a true garage find). Perhaps i need to give the bike a rest and get back on track with this beautiful lady. Cheers
