The SP250 wasn't the only Daimler to go racing; a couple of Centurys entered the 1954 International Touring Car Race at Silverstone, gaining 1st and 2nd in their class. Must have been a sight, but they were alongside Jaguar Mk VIIs, Rileys, Jowett Javelins and what looks like a Mercedes of some sort. The 6 cylinder engine had a 76.2 mm bore by 88.9 mm stroke giving 2433cc - dimensions exactly the same as the Austin Freeway/ Wolseley 24/80. Helped by twin SUs, Daimler got 100 bhp, considerably more power than the Aussie Blue Streak.
