My dad had one of these when I was about fifteen. I could not believe it when he sold it. (things were tough) He saved it from being cut into a ute by a farmer in outer Brisbane. He gave the farmer a registered 29 Vauxhall sedan which had been fitted with a Chev. truck engine to cut up instead. The Auburn speedster had original fitted centre lock wheels. A few years later I saw evidence that some misguided person had hacked it up and made it into a bad copy of an 852 speedster. The car on the left is the Supercharged Phaeton Dad owned much later, the car on the right is the '29 speedster that had been hacked to make it look like the later speedster.I think that car may still exist somewhere.
