jgheaton, I probably can't give any information you don't already know about your '37 Lafayette '400'. I visited Peter ( Trent's late father ) at Toowoomba in 2010 to mainly have a look at his couple of '35/'36 Nash '400's, as I'm getting one restored myself. ( You will see a few photos of it if you check out my page on this site. ) I was interested to see his two cars, as I know of only six examples of this model in Australia and that includes mine and his two. Incidentally all the other five are fully imported cars, whereas mine has an Australian built body. Your LaFayette was where we were looking at the other cars, so naturally I took a look at it too, as well taking a couple of photos. Peter also had a '36 LaFayette which looked to be in good enough condition to be worth restoring as well. Did you buy any of the other Nashes Trent was selling ? The attached photo from your car was interesting, as it perhaps suggested that the car had been repaired or modified in Sydney at some stage. Because it had the Seaman plate on it as well, that would mean it had been originally built in the USA, so the McGrath tag made it interesting.
