Wouldn't I love an RX-2 now? I still remember the evocative sound of an orange one when the driver was going through the Southern Loop at PI. But what a pity Mazda couldn't go on and produce great successors. The RX3 was excellent but the RX-4 was just too chintzy for my taste, although I enjoyed racing a coupe. The only rotaries I've owned were two RX-3 sedans, one a racer. I drove first the RX-3 and then the RX-4 in NSW Street Sedan racing (as well as my beloved Alfetta 1.8). I'm in the passenger seat here, in early 1988, I think.
