I had forgotten I had this gem of a book about all the different VWs NOT made in Germany. The Igala was based on the Type 1, originally designed in Brazil and exported to Latin American countries, West Indies, West Africa and the Philippines in CKD form. This book was written in 1999 by Simon Glen, an Australian who was living in Toowoomba last time I spoke to him. He drove one of the only 412s in the country.
