Nice article DrJohn! Brought up some good memories. I've owned four cars in my life and two of them have been series IV Rx-7s. A burgundy '86 model that was a NA Aussie model (after six months the thermostat jammed and fried the engine) which ended up with a Turboed replacement and my current '88 Jap import Turbo. I managed to get that for $5k in 2016 and get it licenced for Australia. It's in need of some TLC with the paint but mechanically sound. I have ridden in numerous models, including a HB Cosmo but since high school in the early to mid 90s always loved the Rx-4 Coupe. Wouldn't have minded a JC Cosmo with a 20B either. Sadly I can not see either of them happening these days.
