Sadly this Impreza is in the hands of someone else, unfortunately Daughter had an accident in October last year, she hit a bit of loose gravel on the left side of the highway, lost control, and jumped the centre barrier dividing the 4 lanes and she ended up parked on the gravel verge on the opposite side of the highway, facing the other direction. She was shaken up, the car did not sustain that much body damage, but as she went over the barrier it bent the front wheel inwards, and another tyre came off the rim. Shannons assessed the car off as a repairable writeoff, paying out my Daughter $5,200 in total, after taking out her $900 excess as well as another $500 which was the balance that she owed for the current yearly insurance, which she was paying each month from her bank account (her premium on this car was $1200 p/a) I thought it strange that she had already paid 7 months insurance, had the accident, but still had to pay the remaining $500 for the rest of the year, if they had not written the car off and repaired it, she would not be required to pay that $500 balance. I questioned them about it, and it seems that this is the case with all insurers if a car is actually written off. Anyway, Later that day after Daughter had recovered after the accident, she hit the car sales websites and found her next car, she asked if i could drive her to the Subaru dealership (Buckby Motors)in Launceston on the monday, she drove the car, and arranged to pick it up 3 days later. Her new car was a one owner metalic charcoal 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0L, with only 52k on the clock, full service history from Buckby motors, and she ended up getting it for $14.5k (asking $15k) and they threw in roadside assist for 1 year, and a 3 year drivetrain warranty from some company called Presidian. She loves the car, i did try to convince her to get an SUV (we bought a Forester) but she insisted on another 4 door Impreza, and this one was the only 4 door Impreza sedan that we could find for sale in Tasmania, as they are very rare now days. See pic below.
