I have some more information about this Peugeot. It was bought new in Jan/Feb in 1956 from a Peugeot dealer in Sydney NSW called Harden and Johnson. It was a 1956 make Peugeot 403 and light blue in colour. After the race the car was taken back by Harden and Johnson (Peugeot dealer) to be used as a display at different shows in NSW. After the vehicle was taken for display purposes it hasn't been seen since. I do know that I also tried to purchase the NSW plates BAF-385 but they had been taken and due to privacy reason I couldn't find out by whom and if they were still with the car. The car had some key features, such as a large dent in the front bumper bar after they ran off the road and hit a pole, (as in picture) and it still had the wipers on the headlights that my grandfather installed, and a bug defector on the bonnet. I know locating this vehicle is as some people have put it like finding a needle in a hay stack, and there is a good chance it maybe sitting somewhere rusting to pieces, but I can only make the effort because if we do find it, I can only dream of seeing my grandfathers reaction in seeing this again, as he spent hour on hours fully water proving this on his farm in Hillston for the trial. This was all the information he had when I spoke to him on the phone earlier today..
