My Dad had a Norton Commando when he first arrived In Australia from Scotland, I found a photo of my Dad aboard his Norton in 1951 (attached) at the ripe old age of 26, the same age as my son is now. I noticed the number plate, nothing significant, just the plate the bike had when he bought it. Out of curiosity I hit the R.T.A. web site and found the same plate was available, so I snatched it up and now proudly wear it on my Triumph (see photo attached). For the record my son, the third generation biker, has made me guarantee that the plate will be transferred to him when I no longer want it (long way off yet son), anyway, his bike doesn’t have a rego plate so who’s he kidding, he a good rider though, this is him in action. Thanks for your interest.
