Shannons Insurance will continue its partnership with Dale Wood, naming him a brand ambassador for season 2024.

Wood will contest the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup Championship this year, racing a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup Car prepared by Earl Bamber Motorsport (EBM). The season is scheduled over eight rounds - throughout Australia, and New Zealand.

Wood pulled the covers off his new-for-2024 livery at the team’s test day out at Tailem Bend in South Australia and spoke of his enthusiasm for Shannons Insurance’s support as he strives to take the top spot in this year’s championship.

“A proud moment for me to announce I will be a Shannons Insurance Ambassador for season 2024.” Said Wood.

“My aim this year is to go two-spots better than our third-place finish in 2023 and build on the strong performances from last year, in partnership with the great team at Earl Bamber Motorsport.

“I can’t wait to get racing in the #992 Porsche visiting all corners of Australia, but it’s made more exciting as this year also includes a trip to New Zealand at the ITM Taupo Super400 event.

“Wherever we’re racing, I’m delighted to once again have Shannons Insurance supporting me both on and off the track.”

Having aligned with Shannons Insurance as an ambassador in 2023, Wood made a strong first impression behind the wheel of the #992 Shannons Insurance Porsche at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway, stealing the headlines with pole position, a race lap record and three wins from as many starts.

“I kicked off my relationship with Shannons Insurance at Darwin in 2023, where we had an unbelievable amount of success clean sweeping the event.” Continued Wood.

“We carried that momentum through the rest of the year and enjoyed a great finishing result at the Adelaide 500 to claim third in the championship.”

The Australian Porsche Carrera Cup Championship commences this year at the traditional curtain raiser, the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne’s Albert Park, March 21 – 24.

Round 2 sets sail across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand for the Supercars round at Taupo and marks the first international round for Carrera Cup Australia since 2017’s visit to Malaysia.

Stopovers to Darwin for Round 3, Sydney Motorsport Park for Round 4 featuring a night race and Melbourne’s Sandown Raceway for Round 5 follow, before travelling to the famed Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst for Round 6. Gold Coast and Adelaide then close out the season in October and November, respectively.

Channel Seven will be a broadcast partner with the Carrera Cup in 2024, with select races from Darwin, Bathurst, Gold Coast and Adelaide televised on their free-to-air channels.

Kayo and Foxtel meanwhile will stream every Carrera Cup Australia race in 2024 on their respective streaming platforms, as well as Fox Sports Channel 506.
