Clay Richards: Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand 86 Series Preview

Back in the race seat this weekend for the 4th round of the Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand 86 Series in Taupo New Zealand. Completely new track for myself which is very exciting. It’s a big weekend ahead with Dad and I flying to Auckland on Wednesday night and travelling to Taupo earl Thursday morning towing the race car which we’ve loaned off Greg Murphy. 

Three practice sessions, one qualifying and three races is how the weekend will pan out with race 2 being a top 10 reverse grid from the results of race 1. The cars are a little bit different from the 86 I race in Australia. Different tyres to what we run in Australia will mean I’ll need to drive the car a little bit differently. The competition will be some of the best of the best in New Zealand which I’m really excited for.
