BVL (Business Ventures Limited) 3-point seat belts.
What are the defects?
The seat belts can not effectively prevent injury in a car accident.
What are the hazards?
In the event that the seat belts are in use during a car accident, they are unable to effectively protect occupants of the vehicle. Use of the seat belts may result in serious injury or death to occupants of the vehicle.
What should consumers do?
It is recommended that if BVL seat belts are fitted in the vehicle's driver seat, consumers do not use their vehicle until replacements are fitted. If fitted in other seating positions, passengers should not use those seats.
Consumers with affected seatbelts should contact Ray's Auto Seat Belt Australia Pty Ltd Mon-Fri 8:30am - 4:00pm via phone 02 9631 1798 or email sales@rayseat.com.au to arrange an appointment to have their seat belts inspected and replaced free of charge.
A Rays Auto Seat Australia sticker may have been installed in vehicle when the seat belts were installed. Proof of purchase may be required for remediation.
