History
Black Beauty was purchased new in northern NSW by a doctor. GM-H only made 43 of these All Enclosed Coupes in 1938 that were exclusive to Australia. Back seat folds down to provide a big flat floor space through to the boot.
At some point in her life she was re-painted in Rembrandt Black as original and re-trimmed.
It had passed through 2-3 more owners until I purchased her in Melbourne in March 2018, driving her back to Encounter Bay. Was an adventure as we found out the headlights were very, very poor (but only in the dark).
It now shares a home with a much younger 1963 Buick Riviera. Gee they both tell some stories!
Modifications
Currently installing a new wiring harness and setting up the front flashers into the fender park lights. Have installed 6V QH headlight globes with two relays per side to prevent voltage drop.
Replaced the water pump from a later Buick with sealed ball bearing and shaft.
Aim is to get it to a reliable driver that will get us there and back, after all, she is only eighty years young!
