History
1983 Range Rover 'In Vogue'.
Originally a Western NSW Car, and purchased by
Yorkshire 4x4 works as one of their early
recommissions prior to my ownership.
Completely rust-free, with every receipt and invoice
for every dollar spent until she was originally parked
up.
Recommissioning works included a completely
rebuilt, matching number motor, balanced and taken
out .020", with Hi Compression Pistons, Rollmaster
Twin Row Timing Chain, Pre-Emissions Cam and
Lifters, Oil Pump rebuild, Reconditioned heads and
rebuilt Carburettors.
The Exhaust system was upgraded to a full EFI
Exhaust system at this time too.
She also received a full electronic ignition upgrade
with Bosch Ignition Module conversion.
On the cooling system side, every hose was
replaced, a new water pump fitted and
reconditioned radiator installed.
Every single Body Mount was replaced and she
received a complete 20,000 km major service at this
time, with all oils replaced, and wheel bearings
cleaned, checked, and repacked. New Bridgestone
Duelers were fitted at this time also, in the correct
205 R16 size.
She has recently had the 727 Transmission completely rebuilt after the failure of a
circlip in a Clutch Pack, and at this time, was
upgraded to heavy-duty clutches.
While it's widely known that the combination of a
detox 3.5 and 727 didn't equate to the worlds
quickest Range Rover, the extra 35HP a pre Detox
motor makes is extremely noticeable and makes
daily driving a pleasure.
She has recently received a full Torqueflite Air Conditioning
service with new hoses to the Evaporator, along with
a refit to R134A gas.
A RetroSound MP3/USB stereo has been installed,
with classic looks and the ability to sync your phone
to the entertainment system.
This car has recently had a power steering upgrade
with new (modern) power steering reservoir,
replaced drag link ends and track rod ends and
repaired brakes.
