History
Wagon lived its life across the road from Harry Firth HDT Owner in Melbourne. Van was put into a shed and left for many years in storage around 1980. Subsquently purchased by a Sydney enthusiast around 1997 who again put it away with his and his father's other FX FJ vehicles.
After a lot of discussions, purchased by myself in 2016 for a full restoration. Will have to marry up factory stock with special order of the day refreshing what they called an Estate Wagon.
One of my sons came with me to Sydney on the overnight Friday trip and had it back in sunny Queensland by midnight Saturday.
The van has had the full once over to give it a service and my mechanic friends got it running on the 4th attempt.
Engine does not blow smoke but mechanicals will need restoration too. It was lovely to hear it under its own steam again.
