History
I bought it in 2008 for $ 27,000 which was more than market valuation, but Body was 100% and my dream car. It's the model launched the year I finished school, and I wanted the Indy Pace Car model, but couldn't find a RHD car anywhere in Australia at the time.
Whoever had the Left - to - Right Conversation done (at Queensland Corvette), did it on the cheap..... None of the original Air Con components were replaced, leaving a large hole in the Firewall. The original Pedal Box was moved across, resulting in having to place one's left foot behind your right knee to drive it.
Modifications
I had the Holley 850 Double Pumper replaced with the original Rochester, but the Workshop that completed the job, did a SHODDY replacement...... I only had 75% of travel with Accelerator on the floor, as well as a HEAT PAD for the Automatic Choke being fixed to the manifold with Jubilee Clamps ??????
The exhaust system was so loud, being Standard Manifolds, Straight Through Mild Steel Pipes into Hot Dogs at the back. There wasn't even a balance pipe between the outlets. This was ALL replaced with Custom Made Extractors (due to Conversion), Ø2½" Stainless Steel Pipes into Stainless Steel Tri-Flo Mufflers with Twin Outlets. Maybe above Legal Limits, but NOT just NOISE.
Due to the TOTAL Lack of Handling, as well as the Banging on every Speed Bump (regardless of speed), my choice was Khoni Fully Adjustable Shock Absorbers, which I requested to be Black, but as Murphy would have it, the supplied units were Orange......
Lastly, I had a Alarm / Immobilizer System fitted, linked to the Door Locks as to allow me easy access to open the passenger door first..... Chivalry is Alive + Well.
