History
My father purchased this bike new in August 1950 as a 17 year old and rode the bike for about 5 years on mostly unsealed roads. This left the bike in a worn out batted condition. It sat in the farm shed for the next 40 plus years until dad and I dragged it out to start the rebuild of this lovely bike. Our first attempt of restoration was thwarted due to our farm house burning down with the fully restored guards/tank and gauges in the house at the time. However, after about five or so years on we decided to start again with only the tank surviving the fire we got our act together over the next three years to fully restore the old Ariel back to as new condition.
Modifications
Due to Dads request, we used a 1950 sprung rear end frame instead of the rigid frame it originally had which was badly damaged.
