About

The Club was formed in 1945 to cater specifically for Vintage Sports Cars, and is one of the oldest motoring clubs in the State.  “Sports Car” in our title refers to the competitive nature of events to which vehicles were subjected to in the early years. The passage of time has changed the focus of our Club, as membership is   more mature and cars more valuable, with parts much harder to obtain.   It now caters socially for people with a common interest in “old cars” and a broader range of vehicles including those made prior to 1960 are accepted. The classes of vehicles include Veteran (up to 1918), Vintage (1919-1930), Post Vintage (1931-1945) and Other Collectable Vehicles (1946-1959). The Club conducts a range of motoring events throughout the year, averaging at least one each month.  It also includes a number of social events in its calendar. An extensive reference library of motoring books and magazines is maintained by the Club, with the publications available for loan to members. The Club also owns a 1926 Rugby 4 Tourer, which is conditionally available to members for Club runs and other approved events. General Meetings of the Club are held at 8.00 PM on the last Friday of each month (except December), in the Combined Car Clubs club rooms at the Glandore Community Centre, Clark Avenue, GLANDORE.  Visitors are welcome. The Club may be contacted by mail at P.O. Box 701, Plympton SA 5037  or by email
