A bit about the Renault Car Club of Victoria History The RCCV celebrated its 60th year in 2013, making it one of the oldest Renault car clubs in the world. The club was founded on June the 29th, 1953 by an enthusiastic band of Renault 750 (4CV) owners who arranged a group drive to Point Leo. From this event the Renault Car Club of Victoria was born. The club’s first year membership was 63, and the club has steadily grown over the years, with memberships fluctuating to a current membership of around 250. Motorsport The club has a long history many motor sport disciplines, we have run motorkhanas, trials, rallies, autocrosses, observed section trials and economy runs. We also join with other car clubs in similar events such as the Victorian Hillclimb Championship, Victorian Motorkhana Championship and the Interclub Hillclimb Championship at Rob Roy Social The RCCV organise a wide range of social events, including Drive Days, Movie Nights, and visits to automotive themed or other venues of interests. Affiliations The club is affiliated with both the CAMS (the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) which allows our members to access the programs and resources implemented to foster the growth of motorsport within Australia. The club is also AOMC (Association of Motor Clubs) affiliated, which allows RCCV members who own suitable vehicles to register and drive them under the VicRoads Club Permit scheme. Technical Advice Many RCCV members have a long history of Renault ownership and maintenance / modification and are only too happy to discuss your technical problems and share their experience. The Victorian Renault Magazine The club produces a magazine ‘The Victorian Renault’ for its members. It contains a wide range of articles related to both the Club and the wider Renault world. Merchandise The club has a varied range of merchandise, ranging from Shirts and Caps, through to stickers and Numberplate covers. Most are available for purchase from club meetings or club events. Club Meeting General meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month (except January). New members and those interested in joining the club are welcome to come along. Meetings start at 7.30pm and a supper is provided for a gold coin donation.
