Like David's 1952 Lincoln, one of my favourites are the '54s, particularly the Coupes and Convertibles. These brochure illustrations were judged to been masterpieces of automotive photography. They were taken in extraordinarily difficult conditions in sand dunes near Traverse City in Michigan. Bulldozers and tractors were required to position the cars. Strong winds from Lake Michigan kept blowing the sand away from the wheels and the cars would settle into the sand while the models had to keep looking elegant. Sorry, about the quality - there was a fair bit of damage done to the brochure itself...
