The Soviets tried promoting their cars by making them look taller than they really were. This Pobeda brochure from 1950 prompted people in the West to comment that it was a Communist Standard Vanguard, but the Pobeda was announced in February 1946 well ahead of the Vanguard's late 1947 introduction. Perhaps the Russians were 60 years ahead of their time as they tried 4WD with these - the perfect car for the school run!
