• Sunning Bolwell Nagari 351 V8

• Classic Ferrari opportunity

• Rare BMW B10 Alpina

Shannons have some rare and very desirable classic road and track sporting cars crossing the block at the upcoming July 13 Melbourne Winter Auction.

This restored 1973 Bolwell Nagari 351 V8 Coupe is expected to sell in the $50,000-$60,000 range at Shannons Melbourne Winter Auction on July 13.

Taking pole position is a restored and beautifully presented 1973 Bolwell Nagari 351 V8 Coupe.

Resplendent in its green metallic colour, this important muscle car retrains all its important major factory-fitted components, but has been extensively rebuilt mechanically in the past 12 months.

This work includes rebuilding its Ford 351 V8 engine, which according to its vendor now puts out an estimated 350 horsepower at the rear wheels.

The Nagari is arguably Australia's finest sports car, with its stunning looks, solid engineering and electrifying performance and remains hugely collectible today, with Shannons estimating it will sell in the $50,000-$60,000 range.

chis tarmac rally-prepared 1975 Dino 308 GT4 Coupe offers a relatively inexpensive entry into Ferrari ownership at its quoted $32,000-$38,000 selling range.

Rising international values of classic Ferraris have taken many early models out of the reach of buyers, however enthusiasts have a rare opportunity to acquire a Bertone-bodied 1975 Dino 308 GT4 Coupe at a very realistic asking price at Shannons Melbourne Winter Auction.

Offered from the estate of former Maserati Club of Australia president Jim Reark and presented in traditional Red, the tarmac rally-prepared factory right hand drive Dino was upgraded extensively during Reark’s long-term ownership and has been a familiar sight at many tarmac rallies and historical events.

This work included an engine, gearbox, front end and suspension rebuild in 1999 by a Marque specialist at a cost of $37,000, with the car covering relatively few road kilometres since.

The Ferrari has been professionally set up with a roll cage, Terratrip computer, and intercom system and comes with a CAMS historic logbook, making it an ideal Tarmac Rally car or a Group S Historic racing contender.

Alternatively, with some attention to its interior trim, it could be a formidable and very desirable road Ferrari.

With Ferrari recently confirming plans to reintroduce an entry-level Dino coupe, values of classic Dinos are expected to rise, making this 308 GT4 with its guiding range of $32,000-$38,000 a potentially very affordable entry into Ferrari ownership.

This very rare 1986 535i Alpina B10 3.5 Sedan represents a potential classic performance bargain at its predicted $14,000-$18,000 selling range.

Finally from Germany there are two superb BMWs – a very rare 1986 535i Alpina B10 3.5 Sedan and a 1983 635CSi ‘JPS-prepared’ Coupe.

With build number 23 from a total of 25 constructed by the UK Alpina distributors Sytner of Nottingham, this is just one of five B10 automatic
Alpinas made and it is believed to be one of only a handful in Australia.

The Arctic Blue with contrasting Beige cloth interior B10 was imported by its English owner in 2004 and is presents in top condition, with its lowered sports suspension, discrete body kit, uprated 261HP (195kW) 3.5 litre straight six cylinder engine, Recaro sport seats and steering wheel, Alpina wheels and full instrumentation clearly distinguishing it from other BMW sedans of its era.

Shannons expect this rare BMW ‘Q car’ to sell in the $14,000-$18,000 range.

Also in the July 13 auction is a well presented 1983 BMW 635CSi ‘JPS-prepared’ automatic coupe that Shannons expect to sell in the $5,000-$8,000 range.
