Shannons SpeedSeries: Race Tailem Bend - Free Ticket Offer

By Shannons - 24 April 2024

Round 4 of the Shannons SpeedSeries, Race Tailem Bend, will be hosted at South Australia’s pristine permanent racing facility, Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, May 31 - June 2.

The event is shaping up to be one of the largest on the 2024 calendar, with seven categories covering on-track activity.

The usual headliners of Supercheap Auto TCR Australia and Trico Trans Am Australia series will make their respective fourth appearances at a 2024 Shannons SpeedSeries event.

Once again, they are joined by the popular Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 and the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge.

Precision National Sports Sedans and Meguiar’s Australian Production Cars make a popular return to the bill.

In collaboration with Motorsport Australia, The Shannons Club is offering FREE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS for motoring enthusiasts to experience the action firsthand at Race Tailem Bend. Use the promo code and link at the base of this article to secure your General Admission Tickets, with single day or weekend offerings.

Ben Bargwanna heads into Round 4 as series leader in TCR Australia, with a narrow margin to second placed, privateer entrant Zac Soutar.

However, they will have their work cut out defending against the Honda Civic R cohort of Tony D’Alberto and Brad Harris, who have looked strong so far this season in the FL5 model Civic.

Tim Miles and Brendon Leitch were deserving round winners at Phillip Island in April, beating out fellow Audi pairing of Will Brown and Brad Schumacher in a thrilling race on Sunday.

Arise Racing will be back to redeem themselves with its pair of Ferrari 296 GT3s, as defending GT champion Liam Talbot and co-driver Chaz Mostert strive to re-establish themselves at the top following a victory on Saturday at Phillip Island.

The battle rages on in Trans Am Australia. James Golding secured the silverware at Phillip Island but was entrenched in a weekend-long battle with defending series winner James Moffat, who suffered mechanical setbacks in the final race.

Golding holds the points lead; however, the unique circuit layout at Tailem Bend adds another layer of complexity to the enthralling chase for overall series success.

Off the back of a strong series debut at the Island, GT4 will make its second appearance ever as a standalone category in Australia. George Miedeke and Rylan Gray, who share a Mustang GT4, were too strong in Round 1 in a field featuring McLarens, Porsches, Mercedes AMGs and BMWs, just to name a few.

Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge boasted the largest entry list of all categories at Phillip Island and will be again out in force with more than 20 entrants expected.

A detailed schedule and further event details will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Race Tailem Bend will be broadcast on streaming platform 7plus, and selected action on Saturday and Sunday afternoon will be televised on free-to-air channel 7mate.
