History
Purchased while living in the USA in 2009. It looked good on the surface, however it needed a bit of work, and sourcing parts that were completely left off the car like horns, spare wheel, jack, etc, etc, etc. Seats and some of the interior was over-sprayed with paint and looked terrible, however after lots of elbow grease I got them cleaned up and looking schmick again. I’ve repaired and reinforced most of the internal trim which had little age cracks here and there. Again, all pretty now :).
Power steering and power windows is about it for creature comforts and mechanical engine brakes... Everything else is just me and my might. Diff is a 4:11, which makes me think that the previous owner was building the car similar to an LT1, however the diff code (year, etc) is all correct for the chassis, so it might have come from the factory that way? Cool if it did...
Believe it or not, but wipers, washers, lights, etc all work like a charm. Rare on corvettes apparently :)
Modifications
The prior owner spent about $6,500 on the motor in the USA, so I figure that she’s pretty strong. Built from a GM sportsmans block which has Siamese cylinders, a four bolt bottom end and should be good for more hp than most people would ever need. Got an Edelbrock inlet manifold and a Barry Grant modified carbi with 1-7/8" hooker super comp extractors out through resonator twin exhausts. Not sure of the cam, however she’s got crane cam roller rockers, and I’m told solid pushrods because she rattles when idling (I thought I had to adjust my tappets.....). Upgraded rear brake lines to stainless, and found that it has some minor mods to the rear suspension similar to a torsion bar to improve grip.
