mechanised bread delivery vehicle. “The person I bought it from researched the car’s history,” Greg explains. “After Warnambool it was sold to someone in Ballarat who kept it registered until 1961. It then sat under a tree in a paddock until the previous owner bought it and commenced the restoration.” Greg bought it in 2010. “It was on eBay and I bid on it and was successful,” he says. The Ford was 90% restored at the time. “Most of it was ok when I bought it, but the rear axle and brakes needed fixing, I found many of the parts I needed in the USA and had them shipped here,” he says. Greg’s passion for classic cars is not confined to the Model A. His collection started with a 1927 Chevrolet Tourer and in addition to the Model A now includes a 1941 Willys Jeep, 1951 Morris Minor with the side valve engine,1974 Cadillac Fleetwood sedan, 1975 Valiant Charger and 1977 Ford F100 truck. It is quite a diverse and interesting collection. Greg says that it has been built up using the basic principle that “I buy what catches my eye.” Images left and next page: Greg Reichart’s Model A Truck was once a bread delivery vehicle in Warnambool, Victoria. 35
