In all those years only 65,000 miles have been put on it. “I’m not sure of the history before it came to Australia, but I believe it was raced at Silverdale Hill Climb by its first Australian owner,” David says. When David first heard of the car it was also being sought by a former Touring Car identity. The story goes that it was destined for conversion into an outright road racer. When David told the previous owner that there was no way he would sacrifice it to racing and that he wanted to preserve it as is, a deal was done and since 2005 it has been parked in David’s garage. “I take it on club runs,” says David. 47
