Through the late seventies and into the eighties the Sheer Look became all pervasive in the USA, reducing the exclusiveness of the design for Cadillac. The styling of the 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was almost more Seville than the Seville and by 1981 the Malibu sedan was a none too subtle copy.
