Three Classic Chryslers: Classic Restos - Series 44

By Shannons - Published on 07 August 2020

Fletch is in the Albury/Wodonga region, home to the 'Chryslers on The Murray' event. He talks with three Chrysler owners and members of the Albury/Wodonga Chrysler Club as each reveals the story behind their passion for Chryslers and how they came to own their vehicles.

First is Darren with a 1971 VH Valiant Charger that he had admired for a long time and offered to buy repeatedly, then suddenly it became available, "I had to have it" said Darren. He has kept it in as original condition as possible.

Another classic is Arnie's 1935 Chrysler that has been in the one family since 1947. Arnie recalls when his grandfather purchased the car and how he still loves the car today, saying "it has never let him down". He has a very emotional attachment to the car and the memories of his grandfather. Arnie also shares a charming little anecdote about a set of spare wheels covers for the Chrysler.

Finally, John with his 1961 Chrysler Newport which Fletch describes as the epitome of style. Lovingly restored by John in his retirement, it was a project for him after a lifetime of commitment to his business. John believes everyone should have a car project, it's good for your mental health, and it keeps the grey cells active.

Some great insights into the hearts and minds of motoring enthusiasts.
