By Shannons - Published on 20 September 2017

Fletch checks out four great German automobiles at this year's German Auto Show including a 1960 Karmann Ghia looking resplendent after a 4-year bare metal restoration with proud owner/restorer Rob.

German Auto Show organiser Andrew from the Volkswagen Club of Victoria and his completely unrestored and in original condition 1954 VW barn door Kombi, worth wait for it, around $200,000.

Fletch has found some fantastic archive footage of the VW Kombi and provides a history of why the Kombi enjoys such notoriety amongst not just motoring enthusiasts but people from all around the world.

Then there was Patrick who claims that he had his eyes on a Gullwing Mercedes-Benz since he was eight years old, and now he has one that he found and completely restored, a 1956 300SL in immaculate condition inside and out.

And for something a little unusual a 1959 3-wheeler Messerschmitt Microbus boasting a 191c 2-Stroke engine with room for two adults and a small baby. Messerschmitt more famous for their aircraft, but after the war necessity was the mother of invention and hence this little beauty.
