Fletch attends one of the largest private Volkswagen shows in Australia hosted by Andy Roberts and his family, now in its 5th year and supported by the whole Volkswagen community in support of special needs children's charities.
Some of the vehicle highlights include, Heath with his 1963 Beetle, restored over six months as a tribute to the 'Herbie goes to Monte Carlo' movie. Chris who dropped in at the VW Family day after purchasing a 1991 VW Golf GTi Cabriolet on the Gold Coast, before heading back to Melbourne. Flinders with the only Karman Ghia on the day, but one of his VW Collection, the Karman Ghia purchased at a Shannons Auction was a childhood ambition fulfilled. Carlos with his border-line rat car version of the VW Beetle, a 1958 model with the only modification being the aftermarket alloys and disc brakes, otherwise original condition. Janet & Greg with a cool ratty 1956 VW Flat Bed in an unprotected state, but with a beautiful patina, there is nothing quite as cool or gets as much reaction from other motorists as one of these, a real traffic stopper.
