26th Chryslers on the Murray: Classic Restos - Series 37

By Shannons - Published on 11 May 2018

Fletch finds himself in Albury /Wodonga, guest of the Albury/Wodonga Chrysler Car Club and organisers of the Chryslers on the Murray annual event. Attracting over 800 cars from all over Australia with the focus in 2018 on Chrysler AP5, AP6 and VC models.

Fletch picks out some of the best examples on show, Trev with his 1963 Chrysler AP5 Safari Wagon, Ruben with a 1966 Chrysler AP6 Regal Sedan, the top of the range luxury model. Another Chrysler AP6 owned by Alison, this time a 1965 model that has been in the one family since purchased new and travelled from Adelaide to the event.

As Fletch describes, when it comes to classic cars, there are preserved cars, restorations and then there are those that are at a whole new level. Steve who travelled from Townville with his 1970 VG Coupe Custom Mod with a 426 Hemi generating 850HP is an absolute showstopper, in Fletch's own words, 'Perfection'. Finally  Norm with his 1966 VC Valiant, not the highest spec car in the field but in amazing condition, a great example of the cars of the period.

Chryslers on the Murray is the largest Mopar event in the southern hemisphere, next year the spotlight will be on VE, VF and VG Chryslers and well worth a trip to Albury/Wodonga.
