2018 Meguiars MotorEx in Melbourne: Classic Restos - Series 38

By Shannons - Published on 27 July 2018

This is the big one, the 2018 Meguiars MotorEx in Melbourne, the most prestigious car show in Australia featuring over 400 vehicles worth an estimated $40 million. It's a feast of colour and chrome, and individual style as enthusiasts pull out all stops to display their pride & joy.

First, outside in the Street Entry section is Esther with a 1936 Ford Roadster designed by herself and built by her husband.

Then Fletch goes inside the Melbourne Showgrounds Pavillion for the prestigious Meguiars Superstars show stoppers. One of the elite entries is Mick with his 1971 HQ Holden GTS Monaro with an interesting story on how he found the car before the restoration. Another category is the American Legends Street Elite showcasing modified vehicles that are registered and street driven. One of these exhibits is Naz with his 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang fastback and Andrew with a 1963 Thunderbird.

From local Australian manufacturers, two outstanding examples that sit comfortably with other quality exhibits, Carmine with a 1968 HK Holden GTS Monaro original in every aspect, and presented today in better than the original showroom condition and finally Harry with the Iconic 1971 Ford GT Falcon beautifully presented and displayed.

This is a must-see event and one to watch out for next year.
