10th Annual Americarna Car Show - Part 2: Classic Restos - Series 34

By Shannons - Published on 28 April 2017

NZ's Americarna continues on Day 3 with not one cruise, but two cruises and 2 Classic Americarna Car Shows at different locations. Every community in the New Plymouth/Mount Taranaki region want to be part of the biggest Americana show outside of the USA. It's a fantastic celebration of the American lifestyle. This event is so big that they close off main highways and main streets in the participating towns, so the thousands of spectators can enjoy this classic display of Americana, and they have what they call a 'Classic Park' right in the heart of the towns so the public can get up close and personal.

Fletch now well-accepted despite his Australian accent talks with Event Director, John Ray and Taranaki Tourism CEO Stewart about the event and its importance to these communities. And before the 4-day event comes to a close Fletch hunts out some more special cars and talks with their owners about their cars and how special 10th Anniversary of Americana is. First up is Dave with a stunning 1952 Series 62 Cadillac Coupe Deville, the result of a full American restoration. Cameron with his wife's 1958 Chevrolet, originally restored back in the 80's, but still looking great today, and it wouldn't be Americana without a Truck, and Yanz has brought along his beautifully presented 1955 Chevrolet Pick-up in Torch Red. Americana in New Zealand is a spectacular event and another great reason to head to New Zealand and explore this beautiful country and see some spectacular vehicles at the same time, Fletch will be there for sure.
