it is fairly hard to return an Australian Hornet to original. I actually just want to return it to how me and dad done it in the early 90's but a lot better detailed. Photo is at the 2015 Australian AMC/Rambler show. I had tidied it up and got it to look like a car again for the show (as show caters for cars in ALL conditions) as it had been very neglected when I tracked it down and bought it back in 2004. Got it running under its own steam. I put on another bumper etc, straightened bonnet. Right rear guard was damaged as well when they hit tree stump and it flung around. Car is now just a rolling shell. Body is all finished and in undercoat. Panels to do now. That little square thing in the window (next to owners manual) was a trophy from 1994 American car show at Parklea that I still had from when i owned it back then. I have a lot of fun stories with this car. I have already sold it twice. But it wont ever be a third time :-) Hornet next to mine is another very original Hornet still in its rough everyday working clothes with barely much ever done to it. It certainly is good to see the original ones but it is hard to return them that way and really just to see any Hornet on the road regardless of what has been done to it always stirs a bit of excitement
