Interesting review as always, JW. Many thanks. Mitchell's 1966 Toronado had significant influence on Australian GM design too, with the new-for-1968 HK Monaro (indeed all HK-HG Holdens) displaying a more subdued interpretation of the Toronado's distinctive wheel arch flares. I've always loved this signature styling feature. I also see some similarities in the Monaro's roof and pillar shapes. And, of course, the HD Holden's front guard (fender) extensions to make it look longer. Worked a treat on the '66 Toro, so why not a Holden?
