Here's a piece about 'Grandma' Conway's efforts in the '53 Redex Trial in a little publication put out by Larke Hoskins, the Austin Distributor for NSW. Methinks it was written by someone in their advertising department. For the record, she lost 1,979 points plus missed one section, but she did finish. Compare that with Ken Tubman winning in the Peugeot 203 losing just 19 points and David McKay in an Austin A40 Somerset losing 28. Mrs Conway did enter the A40 Somerset Convertible in the 1954 event, but retired about half-way through.
