Thanks Lingus. Yes, I do remember seeing this one when it came up for auction. And even though I'm an Aston Martin fan I don't think it looks as 'sexy' as the XJ-S Eventer. I think it's just because of the straight roof line on the Aston - looks a bit hearse-like to me. Very high quality job though.

Speaking of small volume British variants, I reckon this Bentley 3500 S1 that was converted into a woody ute was also pretty cool. I'm told it was converted from a sedan for Charles Lloyd Jones (of the David Jones department stores) just to carry all his yachting gear (as you do). The Sixth Earl of Stradbroke became its second owner to use on the Mt Fyans Black Angus property. I remember seeing it at the Birdwood Museum in SA and wishing I could take it to the Ute Muster at Deni!
